Embarking on a Journey of Healing: Introducing Meaningful Connections Therapy Practice

Welcome to the inaugural blog post of Meaningful Connections Therapy Practice! We are thrilled to embark on this journey with you and share the vision, values, and passion that drive our commitment to mental health and well-being.

I am Tracey Zion, an independently licensed Social Worker and the owner of Meaningful Connections. I have been a Social Worker for over 20 years and have been blessed to work in a variety of settings. Much of my early career was in the medical field where I worked with patients in almost every setting of healthcare including acute care, hospice/homecare, long term care, and outpatient health clinics. My experience in healthcare has given me a comprehensive knowledge about the connection between our physical and mental selves and how they influence one another. When we don't feel well physically, we don't feel well emotionally and vice versa. In addition to providing support to patients, I spent almost 10 years in a leadership position, providing support and education to a large team of Social Workers who provided services to patients. My leadership experience helped me learn how to support other professionals who struggle to balance their professional lives with their personal lives. Some who experienced mental health challenges and/or compassion fatigue. My experience in outpatient settings provided experience in end of life and grief support as well as chronic disease management and outpatient addiction treatment. Overall, I was fortunate to have such a diverse experience in the medical field. As a mental health provider for the past 10 years, I have been able to utilize my experiences to provide support, education, and encouragement for clients to make small changes on their journey to wellness.

After many years working for organizations and other providers, I finally seized the opportunity to  offer more personalized and individualized care and foster stronger relationships through creating my own private practice. I'm excited for the opportunity to set my own standards and priorities and focus on the quality of care for clients. I look forward to the opportunities for both personal and professional growth with this new practice.

I am grateful for the opportunity to provide services in my community, offering access to care for everyone through a virtual practice. I am hopeful that those who are in need will find a comforting place here and allow me to be a part of their journey to wellness. Until next time!
